2 Peter 3:9 - “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” (NLT)

Greetings Church Family,

As we celebrate the season of Christ’s birth, there are many reasons for us to have joy. Our joy is not rooted in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of Jesus. He entered our world fully aware of its brokenness - poverty, injustice, grief, and pain - yet He came anyway. Through the birth of Jesus, God stepped into our world to bring hope where suffering once reigned. Because Jesus was willing to give up heaven, our trials are not meaningless, our tears are not unseen, and our waiting is not wasted.

Friends, we can have joy because God keeps His promises (2 Peter 3:9), even when circumstances suggest otherwise. We can have joy because forgiveness is real (Psalm 103:12), hope is secure (Hebrews 6:19), and death does not have the final word (1 Cor. 15:54, 55). And finally, my brothers and sisters, we can have joy because Immanuel (God with us) walks alongside us through every valley we face. No delay can cancel His faithfulness, and no hardship can silence His love. In Jesus, our joy is anchored, unshaken, and everlasting.

THANKSGIVING TURKEY DRIVE

THANKSGIVING FIRST RESPONDER VISIT

Last month, our Children’s Ministry enjoyed a special visit with local firefighters and police officers. The kids toured the facilities, explored the equipment, and had meaningful conversations with the first responders who serve our community. They learned valuable safety information, asked great questions, and came away with a deeper appreciation for the everyday heroes who protect us.

CHRISTMAS PLAY

On December 6th, Alpharetta SDA Church presented its annual Christmas play titled “True Light of Christmas.” A total of 44 children participated, each taking part in beautifully prepared narrations and thoughtfully written scripts that highlighted the message of Christ as the true Light of the world. Through uplifting Christmas music and heartfelt performances, the children praised God’s name and reminded the congregation of the hope and joy found in Jesus. The entire congregation was richly blessed by the program and the radiant enthusiasm of the young participants.

  DECEMBER FAMILY FUN

Kindness Crafts: Make ornaments or cards for people in a local nursing home to share the love of Christ.

Christmas Countdown Chain: Create a “kindness countdown” chain where each day a new act of kindness is added or planned.

Bake Through the Bible: Bake Christmas cookies or other treats while reading Bible stories that connect to the story of Christmas.

Write a letter to Jesus: Have kids write a letter to Jesus to express their thoughts and feelings, similar to a “letter to Santa” but with a spiritual focus.

Name of Jesus: Cut out Stars on cardstock. Write “Jesus is …” on each one. Then write words that describe Jesus, such as “Savior,” “Emmanuel,” and“Prince of Peace.” During devotions each night, discuss the different names of Jesus. Use the stars to decorate your kitchen cabinets. It is a great way to engage kids in remembering the character of Jesus through the season.

Caroling at local convalescent homes: Bundle up and go caroling. Sing seasonal songs and read scripture proclaiming the birth of Jesus.
