On July 5, we observed a Quarterly Day of Prayer with testimonies by Spencer Baynard and Andrea Valecillos. They both spoke about how prayer and surrender to God gave them freedom.
Spencer shared how a prayer journal helped him connect with God and how he expressed gratitude every day, even during challenging times. He cited Lamentations 5:19, "You, O LORD, remain forever; Your throne from generation to generation." He shared all his thoughts and feelings with God, and God answered in ways he could never imagine, including sending him squirrels.
Andrea said that becoming a mother turned her life around and helped her be a better version of herself, and she felt God's presence through the tough time of losing her fiancé. To nurture the blessings in her life, especially her children, she focuses on mental, spiritual, and physical health, and shares that with others. Reading Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go" - helps her in times of loneliness.
