This Sabbath, August 28, the Alpharetta Church will have Vespers at Sawnee
Mountain Preserve. Plan on bringing the Sabbath to a close with your church
family at this wonderful mountain sanctuary. We will have a hike to the top of the
mountain for spectacular views at 4:30 pm (please meet in the parking lot),
followed by Vespers at 6 pm. Refreshments will be provided, and bring the kids!

Marcel Schwantes will be speaking at Men's Retreat 2010 at Cohutta Springs
October 15-17, 2010. Marcel is a professional life coach and has a passion for
motivating men on topics of spiritual integrity and leadership, authentic manhood,
personal and professional effectiveness. Registration forms can be found in the
lobby and online at www.gccsda.org. The Early-Bird deadline is October 4.
Our church is forming a Sabbath morning prayer group. The group will meet
each week in the time between Sabbath School and Worship Service in the
classroom upstairs, and anyone is welcome to attend. For more information, please

Aug. 28: Vespers at Sawnee Mtn.
Volunteers needed!
Help is needed setting up and running our sound system. This is a vital and important ministry and requires a volunteer who is willing to arrive at church at 9 am, set up the sound system, and operate the system during the church service. Training will be provided! This is a once-a-month volunteer position.
The Adventurer program is in need of three adults to help with workbooks and earning badges with kids in grades 1st-4th. We meet 1-2 times per month. GENERAL INFORMATION
Fellowship meals are held on the first Sabbath of each month. Please bring a medium-sized microwavable dish for food that needs to be heated. Drink is always provided and desserts are always appreciated!
